Ilaj-bil-Giza (Treatment by food) for Migraine:
You must eat the following foods:
Barley water, chicken soup, green
leafy vegetables, carrot, sweat potatoes, khicuri, homemade soft plain bread, brain
fry, butter, walnut (1-2 nuts daily), mushroom, small fish, fresh red meat,
non-citrus fruit (sweet fruits). Every morning after sunrise you must take
fresh sweet fruit juice (60-120 ml).
You must avoid the following foods:
Junk food, spicy food, garam masala,
red chilies, onion, garlic, fried rice, kabab, big fish, black tea, chocolate, cheese,
caffein, pasta, citrus fruit, yogurt, ice cream, OCP, gas producing foods such
as potatoes, beans, brinjal, dal, preservative contain foods.
Ilaj-bil-Tadabeer (Regimental
therapy) for Migraine:
In this method neither food nor
medicine is used. There are various types of regimental therapy that are
effective for migraine.
Ilaj-bil-Abar (Acupuncture):
G.B. 8 (Shuaigu)
It strengthens the liver and
moderates the concentration of Bile; calms mind; reduces the tendency of
migraine.
G.B. 38 (Yangfu)
Normalizes blood flow to the brain
(i.e. dilates narrowed veins and constricts dilated veins) and reduces the risk
of migraine.
G.B. 44 (Foot-Qiaoyin)
L.I. 4 (Hegu)
It expels internal air from the brain. Strengthens the immune system, relieves pain, boosts the brain and nervous system.
P. 6 (Neiguan)
It stimulates sympathetic nervous
system, boosts vital organs. It relieves nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, hallucination
etc.
G.B. 20 (Fengchi)
It expels internal air from the brain, relieves pain. It plays an effective role in curing both types of migraines.
U.B. 59 (Fuyang)
It removes the obstacles of the body. Reduces the feeling of heaviness and coolness of the head. So, it plays a very effective role in curing cold type of migraine.
Lu. 7 (Lieque)
It increases the immunity power of the body. Reduces the tendency of attacking with cold. Helps in excretion of cold numb substances from the body. So, it cures cold type of migraine.
H. 7 (Shenmen)
It nourishes heart & improve blood circulation, calms mind, induce sleep. It cures hot type of migraine.
G.B. 17 (Zhengying)
It moderates the concentration of Bile;
expels heat from body; calms mind; cures and prevents migraine. It cures hot type
of migraine.
Extra point 2 (Taiyang)
It expels internal air from the brain. Removes excess heat from the body and relieves pain. So, it is very effective in curing hot type of migraine.
St. 8 (Touwei)
Exhales the internal air. Activates the brain and nervous system, relieves pain. It works to cure hot type of migraine.
Press the main 3 points and the
first 3 additional points for both types of migraine. Use the remaining points
according to your migraine type.
Press these points of the body for
30-60 seconds & repeats 3-5 times daily. As a result of regular acupuncture,
the body will become active in preventing migraine, In Sha Allah.
Special point only during migraine
attack:
G.B. 4, G.B. 5, G.B. 6, G.B. 7 &
G.B. 8
Press these points chronologically.
Yoga for migraine:
Padmasana
It calms the nervous system and calms mind. Eliminates anxiety, fear & frustration. Increases the body's resistance to disease. Increases the working capacity of the brain.
Do this yoga in early morning for
3-5 minutes.
Marjariasana
It increases the function of the heart, liver, kidneys, brain, lungs and spleen. Increases blood circulation. Removes contaminants from the body.
First slowly bend the spine
downwards then extend the spine upwards. Repeat this process for a few times in
a day.
Balasana
It accelerates venous return and
increases blood flow to the brain. Relaxes the nervous system and relieves pain.
Do this yoga in early morning for 2-3
minutes.
Paschimottanasana
It increases blood circulation to the brain and activates the nervous system.
Do this yoga for 30 seconds & take
a break of 15 seconds. Repeats 3-5 times.
Savasana
This asana helps to relax overall
body, mind & soul. It strengthens the psychological power & helps to
remove all emotional triggers (fear, anxiety, depression, tension, stress
etc.). It helps to bring sleep quickly.
Setu bandhasana
It increases blood-circulation &
activates internal organs.
Do this yoga for 30 seconds & take
a break of 15 seconds. Repeats 3-5 times.
Adhu mukho savasana
It works on the sympathetic nervous
system, regulates blood pressure, increases blood circulation and oxygen supply
to the brain.
Hijama (Cupping):
Cupping is done in those points:
1,55,2,3,106 & the area of pain.
Dalak (Massage therapy):
1. First massage under eyebrow with
thumb or middle finger for 30-60 seconds,
2. Then
massage below eye (from inner to outer direction) by index & middle finger for
30-60 seconds,
3. Now massage at the lateral side
of eye (circularly) by middle finger for 30-60 seconds,
4. Finally massage between the
eyebrow (from up to down) with thumb or middle finger for 30-60 seconds. Repeat
whole process several times.
Shamoom (Aroma Therapy):
For Shaqiqa Haar (Hot type of
Migraine):
Mix few drops Water-Lili essential
oil or Viola odorata essential oil or Marshmallow essential oil with any type
of carrier oil (coconut oil/sesame oil/vegetable oil/olive oil that is suitable
for your skin). Massage forehead, neck, hands, feet & area of pain. You can
also inhale this mixture. During bathing put few drops essential oil in your
bathtub.
Precaution: Never use essential oil without carrier oil.
For Shaqiqa Baarid (Cold type of
Migraine):
Mix few drops Lavender essential oil
or Chamomile essential oil with any type of carrier oil (coconut oil/sesame
oil/vegetable oil/olive oil that is suitable for your skin). Massage forehead,
neck, hands, feet & area of pain. You can also inhale this mixture. During
bathing put few drops essential oil in your bathtub.
Precaution: Never use essential oil without carrier oil.
Nutool (Irrigation):
For Shaqiqa Haar (Hot type of
Migraine):
Mix few drops Water-Lili essential
oil or Viola odorata essential oil or Marshmallow essential oil in 2 liters
water & heat the mixture at 40-degree Celsius temperature for 15 minutes.
Then cool the mixture. Take an Irrigation pot (you can take a clay pot that
have a small hole below). Frist close the hole with something & pour the
mixture. Hang it at 65 cm distance from patient forehead. Patient should remain
lying down & close her eyes with wet cotton bolls or cloths to avoid water
splash. Now open the hole & pour it slowly on patient forehead &
massage gently.
Precaution: Patient eyes must cover with cotton or cloths. Before
pouring on patient forehead the mixture must be cooled.
For Shaqiqa Baarid (Cold type of
Migraine):
Mix few drops Lavender essential oil
or Chamomile essential oil in 2 liters water & heat the mixture at 40-degree
Celsius temperature for 15 minutes. Take an Irrigation pot (you can take a clay
pot that have a small hole below). Frist close the hole with something & pour
the mixture. Hang it at 65 cm distance from patient forehead. Patient should
remain lying down & close her eyes with wet cotton bolls or cloths to avoid
water splash. Now open the hole & pour it slowly on patient forehead &
massage gently.
Precaution: Patient eyes must cover with cotton or cloths. Before
pouring on patient forehead the mixture must be warmed.
Timing of Nutool: Nutool (irrigation) is done 2-3 days in a week for 2-3 months (it
depends upon the condition of patient).
Roughan (Apply oil):
For Shaqiqa Haar (Hot type of
Migraine):
Apply Roughan Kadu (gourd oil) on
scalp in every night.
For Shaqiqa Baarid (Cold type of
Migraine):
Apply Roughan ajwain (carom seed
oil) or Roughan kunjud (sesame oil) on scalp in
every night.
Advice:
1. Completely
follow treatment by food, treatment by medicine & regimental therapy.
2. Do
your breakfast & lunch in time & eat your dinner before 8 pm.
3. Avoid
junk food, spicy food & oily food.
4. Eat fresh
vegetables & sweet fruits daily.
5.
Avoid heavy exercise.
6.
Save yourself from trigger of migraine.
7. If you have uterine disease or
kidney disease, please consult with doctor & take treatment.
8. Don’t
watch T.V or use mobile, computer, internet & other electronic devices at
least 1 hour before your sleep.
9. Wake
up early (before sunrise) in the morning & sleep early (within 10-10:30
pm).
10. Totally avoid tension
(specially don’t worry about your disease) & always remain in pleasant
mood.
After all, Allah is the Healer of
all disease. Human knowledge is limited. Besides taking medicine of any
disease, one should pray to the Creator for cure of the disease.
